Cashier
My first job was a cashier at our local Home Hardware. My tasks also included some minor reception/administrative duties including answering calls, managing accounts, filing, etc. I worked in this position throughout high school and sincerely enjoyed the social interaction that came along with it!
Sales Representative/Interior Design Associate
After graduating, I was given the opportunity to work full time as a sale rep/interior design associate. My love for art and design made me the perfect candidate for the job. My duties included managing the home and paint section of the store. As well as designing and selling interior home designs/products to customers building or renovating and continuing various administration/reception tasks. During this time I took a kitchen and bath design course to further my knowledge of the code, electrical, and plumbing requirements needed for a safe and functional home. This job helped me gain experience on how to communicate with customers/clients through phone, email, text, etc. and build one on one relationships.
Office Administration
Now that I am working towards a business administration degree, I was inclined to take the office administration opening to gain more experience. If you can't already tell I have only worked for a single business. While some may say that means a lack of experience, I believe otherwise. Working at Home Hardware has provided me with many opportunities regarding my schooling and career. I have been lucky enough to gain knowledge on numerous areas of the company and therefor further my understanding on what it takes to manage a successful business. Rather than jumping from job to job, I chose to stick with the company and utilize all the opportunities I was presented with.

I am currently studying towards my business administration degree with a major in management at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
