Payroll/staff Accountant
Duties include: processing and reviewing payroll, producing a variety of documents pertaining to payroll transactions, including payroll registers Pension and Employee Benefits. Process semi- monthly salaried and hourly payroll; Prepare payroll for electronic funds transfers and other financial arrangements; Compliance with government legislation, bylaws, and corporate policies and practices; Administering benefit and pension plans; Processing of RSP, payroll remittances, garnishments, and any other payroll related payments; New hire packages; Creation and maintaining of employee personnel files. Accounts Payable data entry and electronic payments, bank and account reconciliations, insurance company accounts receivable and payable reconciliations, monthly/daily journal entries. Yearend reconciliations, T4/T4A/T2202A processing and submissions to the CRA.
Human Resources Assistant
Duties include: Assisting in the recruitment process which specifically includes checking/recording recruitment applications daily in HRIS, scheduling recruitment interviews, managing the recruitment regret process for all recruitments. Providing support as requested by HR team members for: preparation of job postings, advertising (internal and external), pre-screening interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparation of employment offers, preparation of the employee packages and scheduling the various onboarding departmental requirements/times). Arranging for pre-employment screening, creation and maintaining employee personnel files, distribution of reports, maintenance of new hire/termination checklists, assisting with employee training, maintenance and data entry and providing assistance with HR related projects.
Payroll Clerk
Manage compensation packages using payroll software
Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees
Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate
Manage and calculate taxes and deductions
Initiate periodical payments timely either by preparing and administering checks or making direct deposits through a bank payment system
Issues statements and invoices and maintain records
Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
Calculate unemployment and severance payments
Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor
Finance Clerk
Duties included: accounts payable preparing client’s cheques using a one write system. Calculation of payments, coding and issuance of cheques, reconciliation of cheque register with SAP invoice log and entering data into commitment accounting legacy system. Using excel, post required Foster Parent payments. Post individual ward costs by financial codes and cross balance to foster parent payment ledger. Run an SAP invoice log and forward to central accounting office for processing, process operating account payable and cross reference with SAP to ensure payment. Follow-up on overpayments by register letters, data entry for TIPS wage and benefit distribution and accounting adjustments. Other duties include: timekeeping (for the northern region including our direct service providers), purchase ordering and technology support for the entire northern region of Manitoba also switchboard/reception relief and back up to other positions and regions in Manitoba.
Payroll Clerk
Duties included: Processed and posted accounting data, closed the accounting period, maintained the general ledger. Reviewed and checked all accounting transactions entered into the system. Prepared and verified accuracy of financial statements and periodic / ad hoc financial reports. Paid bills and settled outstanding cash accounts and prepared cash and bank reconciliations. Year end and monthly reconciliations of accounts, preparation of T4’s and ROE’s, quarterly submissions to the WCB, also GST, PST, CPP, EI and Federal Tax submissions. Payments for Union Dues, employee benefits such as long term and short term disability, RRSP’s and tax free savings accounts. Prepared monthly inventory reports, employee earnings report and calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
