Ms. Kiflien grew up in India and pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Technology from the renowned SNDT University in Mumbai, India. Upon completing the program, she started a tax consultancy practice and grew it into a successful business. However, with her educational background in Computer Science, she also felt a growing need in her community for avenues to provide quality education to students intending to pursue higher education in Computer Sciences. In her spare time, she started coaching students on Applied Math, Computer Management, Data Structures, and Algorithms. These coaching sessions soon developed into a passion for teaching and Ms. Kiflien found herself coaching a diverse range of students, from grades 5 through 12, for almost a decade. In 2016, she moved to Canada and continued teaching at a local Islamic school in the GTA. During her time there, Ms. Kiflien successfully proposed the introduction of Computer Science as a subject at the elementary level keeping in view the rapidly changing technological landscape. She reasoned that it would help her students better prepare themselves for higher education as well as future careers. Additionally, through that experience, she was exposed to the inner workings of the Ontario curriculum and developed a strong understanding of the system.
When she is not teaching or coaching students, Mrs. Kiflien spends her time with her family and her two children.
