Civic Engagement Coordinator
● Facilitated and coordinated two monthly community tables driven by resident leaders and attended by
community partners to identify and discuss priority issues at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels
including deeply affordable housing, food security, childcare, affordable transit, and the impacts of climate
change from an equity perspective.
● Developed and produced accessible policy documents for the general public regarding key policy issues such
as accessible and affordable public transportation.
● Presented oral briefings and policy recommendations to municipal councillors on priority files from a gender
equity perspective such as inclusive urban planning, free transit for low-income residents, affordable
housing, and accessible childcare.
● Designed and coordinated multiple civic literacy training and other educational activities with over 120
participants on the annual city budget, place-based civic engagement, and voter turnout to engage equityand
justice-seeking groups in civic action using a popular education approach.
● Coordinated and coproduced accessible research and analyses of government budgets, election issues, and
social issues including deeply affordable housing, food security, childcare, and Ottawa’s urban planning with
a gender equity lens.
● Coordinated regular and timely communication and circulated information internally and to 15 community

Graduate Research Assistant
● Reviewed and assisted in the development of four successful requests for proposals designed to investigate
and advance gendered design in low- and middle-income countries.
● Conducted SWOT analyses for each proposal, suggested and implemented improvements to project
methodological frameworks, wrote and revised proposals for clarity of language.
● Responsible for providing expert advice regarding urban planning, public space development and gender
equity, and transportation best practices that were incorporated into the successful proposals.
